It’s never too late to learn how to swim. No matter how old you are, developing the swimming skills you need to feel safe and comfortable around water is possible. In our adult swim program, we use our learn to swim progression, but tailor it to adults. Whether you want to overcome a longtime fear of water, learn the foundations of water safety, work on your side breath, perfect your stroke, or gain endurance, we have a class to suit your needs.
From backyard pool parties with your kids to beach vacations with friends and family, life is full of opportunities to make memories in and around the water. Our adult swimming lessons will equip you with the confidence and skills you need to join in on the fun, even if you’ve never felt comfortable being in the water. After a few lessons, you’ll feel empowered and encouraged, not embarrassed or anxious. You will learn at your own pace, ensuring a rewarding, comfortable experience that will empower you with the skills you need to experience the joy of swimming.
Are adult swim classes right for me?
Our adult classes can be an excellent fit for swimmers of all abilities, including adults who already have some experience with swimming or beginners who want to overcome their fear of water. Lessons can help seasoned swimmers refine each stroke to improve their lap times and provide coaching for triathletes who want to hone their swimming skills to increase speed, endurance, and confidence during a triathlon or for everyday fitness.
Our Adult 1 group class (students age 14+) is designed for students with little to no swim experience to those working towards independent swimming. Swimmers start with learning the basic safety skills and progress to independent freestyle. Our small group classes have up to 5 students per class and are scheduled weekly on a perpetual basis (same day and time each week).
In our Adult 2 class (students age 14+), swimmers are already comfortable in the water and are proficient in safety skills. This class level focuses on learning the freestyle side breath, backstroke technique, and fundamentals of breaststroke. Our small group classes have up to 5 students per class and are scheduled weekly on a perpetual basis (same day and time each week).
Our stroke clinics are an excellent option for our most advanced group of swimmers (students age 14+) with an additional focus on stroke technique and learning the components for joining a master’s swim team or training with a group.
Private lessons are available for all skill levels and are a great option for those looking to progress or refine skills quickly. Classes are scheduled on a weekly, ongoing basis.
Semi-private lessons are available for all skill levels and are a great option for siblings or friends to be in the same class. Classes are scheduled on a weekly, ongoing basis.
Our proven curriculum is as flexible as it is effective, and every lesson plan helps develop long-term skills in a supportive environment. When you participate in our adult swim program, you can expect:
“The instructors are great with the kids and I see improvements each week.”
“My son is confident when he is in or around water, which makes us much more comfortable and confident about his safety.”
“I was sold the first lesson my son had. He looks forward to coming to class every single week!”
Our ParentTot classes for babies 4+ months are a great way for parents to bond and socialize with their baby while teaching vital water safety skills like breath control, floating and kicking. We also offer Toddler Transition classes for toddlers ages 2-3 years. Parents join their swimmers poolside until they are ready to transition to a small group class without a parent nearby. Both classes focus on foundational water safety skills as well as developing a comfort in the water, which are crucial in developing swimming skills.
We offer a variety of swim lesson programs for children of all ages and levels. Whether your child is just starting to get comfortable in the water or moving on to more advanced techniques we have you covered. Our progressive curriculum starts with foundational skills in beginner level classes and develops swimmers to be advanced swimmers. We offer a variety of class types from small group classes featuring a 4:1 student to teacher ratio to semi-private and private lessons.
Our private swim lessons allow swimmers of all ages and levels to progress through our curriculum at their own pace with one of our certified swim instructors. Each 30 minute class will be customized around mastering the skills to become a better, stronger, safer swimmer. Private and semi-private lessons are great options if you are looking for more time focused on your individual swimmer or siblings wanting to be in the same class.
Our swim team prep program takes swimmers who already have knowledge of the competitive swimming strokes and want to refine their swimming skills. The program includes regular weekly sessions with a set workout with an out of water coach whose primary goal is to mimic an experience one would have on a recreational swim team. Whether you’re looking to prepare for a summer swim team, get a jump start on swim team training or just get some mileage in the water practicing stroke technique, our Swim Team program will add a dose of weekly water fun to your schedule.
Our family swim is a great time for your family to practice swimming skills outside of regular swimming lessons or to enjoy our kid and family friendly swimming pools and stay active year-round. We encourage our current swimmers and their families to utilize this time to practice water safety, improve on swim skills and socialize with other families. Our warm water indoor pools make family swimming enjoyable for all.
Want to make your child’s next birthday party unforgettable? Host your celebration with Miller Swim School! Our heated indoor pools, certified lifeguards, and indoor party room are a wonderful way to celebrate birthdays without worrying about the unpredictable Tulsa weather.
Swimming is a life skill for all and it can also have tremendous therapeutic benefits. Being in water can soothe sensory overload, provide relief from physical discomfort, and provide students with a sense of independence. In addition to teaching water safety skills, swimming lessons can also improve balance, coordination, strength, and range of motion. At Miller Swim School we have a team of certified instructors with various training and experience in working with students with special abilities. We encourage meeting with you and your swimmer prior to starting lessons to discuss your goals and develop a customized teaching plan that meets the needs of your family.
Our seasonal swim camps are perfect for swimmers looking to jump start their skills by swimming with us on a more frequent basis. Lesson frequency and consistency (along with quality instruction and a world class swim curriculum) is a key element in progressing a student’s swimming ability. Our seasonal swim camps provide lessons multiple times per week and are 2 weeks in duration.
