Liz Allen, General Manager
Meet our amazing General Manager, who has dedicated her career to aquatics and teaching the life skill of swimming. Her journey began at Winter Park Family YMCA in Orlando, FL, where she started working in aquatics at just 15 years old. After high school, she moved to Honolulu, HI, and continued her work in aquatics with the U. S. Navy's recreation department as a Pool Manager and event coordinator. Her passion for aquatics grew during this time, and she decided to pursue a BS degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management with a concentration in community and commercial recreation from Penn State University (PSU).
During her time at PSU, she oversaw the Lifeguard staff and taught swim lessons in the Aquatics department. After graduation, she moved to South Carolina with her husband to start a family and plant some roots. Over the last 8 years, she has worked for both the Greater Charlotte YMCA and the YMCA of the Upper Palmetto's Aquatic departments before making a change to SafeSplash & SwimLabs. Her love and passion for aquatics has continued to grow at SafeSplash & SwimLabs, where she teaches the amazing life skill of swimming to the Fort Mill community. For her, watching each swimmer meet their swim goals is equivalent to saving a life in the future. With her wealth of experience and passion for aquatics, our General Manager is committed to providing exceptional swim programs at our swim school.
Meghan Y., Assistant Manager
Meghan grew up in southern West Virginia, and from a young age, swimming was one of her all-time favorite hobbies. Whether it was in swimming pools or in the rivers near her hometown, you could always find her enjoying the water. She began nannying during the COVID-19 pandemic, which sparked a passion for working with children, and eventually led her to becoming a swim instructor at SafeSplash & SwimLabs in Fort Mill.
She has always taken a fun approach to teaching her classes, while also enforcing the importance of safety to each of her swimmers. She is constantly inspired by her students’ growth in confidence and swimming abilities as they progress through every level, and it brings her so much pride to watch them accomplish their goals. As she steps into the Assistant Management position, she hopes to continue to provide a fun, safe environment for kids to learn to enjoy the water as much as she did in her youth!
