Meet the SafeSplash Kansas City (Zona Rosa) Team

Chris Wright and Dr. Stephanie Bays are the owners of SafeSplash Kansas City (Zona Rosa). They have been married since 2005 and have 3 children. Chris is a former daycare director and Stephanie is a pediatrician at Pediatric Care North since 2009. We are passionate about water safety and ensuring that children receive high quality swim lessons from an early age. Drowning is one of the leading causes of death in children. Prevention through standard safety measures around bodies of water, diligent supervision and high quality lessons can lower these risks. Water play is a great exercise activity and life skill. We aim to provide lessons for all ages and ability levels through group or individualized lessons as needed.

Hi! I'm Katie! I have been in aquatics in some capacity my whole life as a lifeguard, competitive swimmer (High School & College) and a fish on family vacations! After college, I worked at a children hospital for 7 years during that time I saw first-hand the alarming number of pediatric drownings, which strengthened my passion for water safety. I left in 2020 and have been running, opening and overseeing swim schools ever since. I also coach high school swimming and work closely with them on stoke refinement! My passion and goal is to make sure every child feels seen when they walk through our facility doors for class and empowered to become a safe, confident swimmers and people!
