Meet the SafeSplash Montgomery Village Team

Rhi Odom, General Manager

Hi! I'm Rhi and I'm the General Manager here at SafeSplash Montgomery Village. I'm thrilled to be working with children and teaching them another very important life skill as well as ensuring their safety while they're in our facility, as I am also a trained and certified Lifeguard and Pool Operator (CPO). I am a mom of 2 amazing kids (17 yr old son, 15 yr old daughter) that I also taught how to swim at a young age, and now my kids are very confident, strong swimmers. I personally come from a martial arts background athletically, and am a world champion athlete in Jiu jitsu and have practiced the sport for 10 years now. I have enjoyed teaching self-defense to students of all ages for the past 5 years and am happy to now also be teaching kids swimming/water safety skills. Professionally I come from a management and interior design industry background ( I am a creative at heart), previously having managed a Jiu Jitsu and MMA academy, I come me with tons of experience in a relative sport driven learning environment. I look forward to having a positive influence on the Gaithersburg/ Montgomery Village community which I am a resident of, and seeing you all learning this important life skill with me at the SafeSplash MV pool. Come splash with us at SafeSplash!

OUR STAFF

Hi, my name is Junior. I'm a swim instructor and Lifeguard here at SafeSplash MV. I went to Northwest H.S. And am currently pursuing a career in Real Estate and am beginning my education this fall to become a Realtor. I have been a Lifeguard for 2 years and am excited to be instructing now as well. Although my specialty is on the soccer field, I've always used swimming as a form of recovery. I hope to be able to teach the importance of safety in the water, to teach new skills, watch my students progress and most importantly, have fun while doing so! See you here at SafeSplash soon!

After almost 3 years in the aquatics industry, I can proudly say it has become a passion. What I enjoy most is having the opportunities to be a part of little swimmers' learning journey. Not only is it fun and interactive, it is super rewarding. Swimmers are able to develop their swimming while also developing their learning styles. I am currently in school for psychology and hope to combine both aquatics and psychology when I am finished. While I was an okay swimmer throughout my childhood to teen years, I never would've thought I'd be where I am today. SafeSplash has been encouraging, welcoming and very communicative. We are excited for what the future holds

Hi there, I'm Skye. I work at SafeSplash as an Instructor and a Lifeguard. I was thrown into water practically the minute I was born, and that gave me the love of swimming that I have to this day! Ever since then, I've been on a swim team and helping the little kids how to perfect the craft of swimming. Before this job, I worked as a lifeguard at my local pool, and I babysit in my free time. I love cats, the color purple, and having fun with these kids. Say hi when you see me here at SafeSplash

Hi, I'm Robert! I've been passionate about swimming for as long as I can remember, having spent much of my life in the water. My love for the sport, led me to become a competitive swimmer, which taught me discipline, perseverance, and the joy of pushing my limits. This passion naturally extended into coaching, and I spent several summers as a coach for my local swim team. Those summers were some of the most fun and rewarding experiences of my life, as I got to share my love for swimming with the kids and watch them grow and improve. Currently I'm studying Neurobiology and Physiology at the University of Maryland, and I'm on the Pre-med track. My studies have deepened my understanding of the human body and further fueled my passion for helping others. Working at SafeSplash has been an incredible experience. I love the opportunity to work with kids, helping them build confidence and learn a skill that could one day save their lives. Seeing their progress and excitement in the water is truly rewarding. SafeSplash provides a supportive and fun environment and being part of a team that shares my passion for swimming and teaching is something I really enjoy.

Hi I'm Jasmine, an instructor at SafeSplash MV. I love working with kids and have experience as a former team coach and a nanny. I have been in pools since before I could walk! I did competitive swimming for 12 years and adored it, it has taught me so much about safety, self-confidence, and determination. I am currently a political science major at Rutger University and going into my junior year. I truly hope to help young swimmers gain a passion for swimming just like I did! Hope to see you here at SafeSplash soon!

I'm 20 years old and a swim instructor at SafeSplash. When I was 5 or 6 years old, I went to a community with my mom and I had a habit of staying on the stairs or clinging to her leg and she had HAD IT! Lol. She just threw me in one day and, while I did freak out, that is the day I learned how to doggy paddle and self-started. I swam more in High School on a swim team and being the oldest of a 7-kid clan, I taught my siblings as well and that experience spoke out to me. From there, still in high school, I knew I wanted to transition into teaching children. There's never a dull moment working with kids and that's honestly my favorite thing about working at SafeSplash. Being given the opportunity to make a difference in parents and children's lives is so fulfilling! I couldn't thank the staff or the owners, Jen and Michael, enough for choosing me to work for SafeSplash. Moving forward with my future, I do plan to continue working with children, but as of now, I am training to be a Flight Attendant. I want to experience new things myself and see the world after graduating. Come visit me at SS to see what's next for me!

My favorite part about working about SafeSplash is the vibrant culture, engaging positively not only with my coworkers , but also interacting with the students and parents. I joined the SafeSplash community this year, with my passion driving my desire to work at this amazing swim school. I especially enjoy interacting with the students and watching them progress with each lesson. I love utilizing the many toys and materials SafeSplash provides to keep the lessons fun and engaging.
